My name is Olivia Dunn and I play JV basketball for the DH Conley Vikings in Greenville, NC. Our Coach, William Knight, is truly an inspiration to me and my team. He is a mentor and role model, on and off the court.
My parents taught me to try new things, even when I have no clue how to do them. I've learned to take a deep breath, walk through the door and try my best. But, they also taught me that a team working together can accomplish big things. Please be a part of our team.
Coach Knight really needs a kidney. He goes through dialysis 6 days a week and never complains or even talks about it. He is grateful for every little thing. We want to find him a kidney and we need your help. Coach didn't ask us to do this but we are doing what we know is the right thing to do!
We are now researching what we need to do to start the process. Please email us at KidneyForCoach@gmail.com if you have knowledge, advice or can help us accomplish our goal. We are grateful and determined. Thank you very much!
Update: Thank you! Thank you!
So many incredible people are already stepping up to HELP US HELP COACH. WCTI.com, WITN.com and WNCT.com have been incredible helping spread the word.
http://www.WashingtonOnTheWaterfront.com Oyster Bar has our back.
Numerous people have emailed us asking how to be tested. We are grateful and need more potential donors.
If you are interested in becoming a potential kidney donor for coach or just want to help anyone, please call: CORRECTION: A Vidant Media Specialist contacted us. We are posting their complete email so we get it correct. If you know anyone or any facility that is willing to help us with testing or whatever is needed to simply find coach a kidney, PLEASE let us know.
from VIDANT Media Specialist:
" Your website and efforts to help your coach are truly an inspiration. I do wish it much success!
There are a couple of points on the website that do need to be changed; the first one is the statement about Vidant Medical Center doing the testing. I am not sure who contacted Kidney for Coach, but in speaking with the chief of transplant surgery who oversees our living donor program, that is not an accurate statement. Can you remove the line that says "Vidant Medical Center contacted us and will help us do the testing."
The other point that needs changing is the number provided for potential kidney donor's, the best number to call is 252-744-2620.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
See the below YouTube video link if you are considering a kidney donation. Thank you, Olivia.
Giving the gift of life is such a wonderful thing, and something wonderful for anyone to even consider!
